In Delhi, a one-and-a-half-year-old baby was saved 15 minutes after he fell into a washing machine full of soap water. Immediately, he was admitted to the Fortis hospital in Vasant Kunj. The doctors stated that the child was unconscious, unresponsive, cold and had breathing difficulties when he was brought to the hospital.
Reportedly, after seven days in a coma and on a ventilator and then 12 days in a ward, the baby was sent home. Apparently, the baby fell inside a top-loading washing machine as its’ lid was left open and his mother was not in the room. The mother said that the boy might have climbed on a chair and slipped into the machine.
As per the consultant at the pediatrics department, due to the soap water, functions of various organs were compromised, including electrolyte imbalance. Later, baby boy was given the necessary antibiotics and IV fluid support for recovery and started recognizing his mother.
